A Love Story That Stands the Test of Time: Jake and Marie’s Bali Wedding

At Global Weddings, we had the absolute pleasure of working with Jake and Marie on their dream wedding since 2019. From the very beginning, they envisioned a celebration that would not only reflect their love but also create lasting memories for their family and friends. They initially chose the gorgeous  Seseh Beach Villas as the venue, and with the planning in full swing, we knew this wedding was going to be something truly special.

However, life had other plans. When the pandemic hit, everything came to a standstill. With global uncertainty and travel restrictions, weddings around the world were postponed, including Jake and Marie’s. Despite the challenges, Jake and Marie’s determination and creativity shone through during this time. They began building their own villas, Villa Maja and Villa Belajar, in the heart of Canggu—a testament to their resilience and shared vision.

In 2022, as borders began to reopen and life slowly returned to normal, our director Narelle bumped into Jake and Marie at Bali airport. It was a serendipitous moment that reignited the spark of their wedding plans. By late 2022, they reached out to us with a new vision: to host their wedding at their stunning new villas. With this change of venue came a fresh opportunity to create a celebration that was uniquely theirs.

Four Days of Unforgettable Celebrations

The wedding festivities spanned four incredible days, each filled with joy, love, and unforgettable moments. The celebrations kicked off with a family welcome dinner at the original wedding venue, Seseh Beach Villas. The setting was so beautiful and heartfelt that many guests thought it was the wedding itself! The next morning was followed by a traditional Balinese Blessing, offering a meaningful connection to the local culture and the couple’s love for Bali.

Next came the lively welcome event at Times Beach Warung, where guests enjoyed a relaxed and fun atmosphere on the sand right by the ocean. The wedding day itself was a grand affair at Jake and Marie’s stunning Villa Maja and Villa Belajar, with every detail thoughtfully curated to perfection. The celebrations concluded with a fabulous recovery day, ensuring guests left with cherished memories of this remarkable event. What a celebration it was!

Planning the Wedding of the Year

The planning began in earnest, and we knew from the start that this wedding would be nothing short of spectacular. Jake and Marie’s vision was one of elegance, glamour, and above all, a celebration of family and love. With  the talented Kylie from Enakai Creative, we set to work on what would become the wedding of the year in 2023.

As influencers, Jake and Marie had unique considerations for their big day. Balancing the demands of content creation with the intimacy and authenticity of a wedding is no small feat. From photo and video content to collaborations with suppliers, every detail had to be carefully planned to ensure that the day remained genuine and true to their love story. Our team worked tirelessly to find the perfect balance, showcasing the incredible talent of suppliers while maintaining the personal, heartfelt essence of the celebration.

A Day to Remember

Jake and Marie’s wedding was a stunning reflection of their brief: elegant, luxurious, and deeply meaningful. Hours upon hours went into trying to find the best design for the space and ensuring everything from the street entrance to the covered decked swimming pools was done to perfection. It was flawless thanks to the hard work of Kylie from Enakai. And while there were nods to their influencer lifestyle, the focus remained firmly on what mattered most: celebrating their love and the people who mean the world to them.

The Lane described the wedding as “a true masterpiece”, highlighting the seamless blend of modern luxury and heartfelt tradition. Vogue Germany applauded the Sandat,  who masterfully created lush, romantic arrangements that complemented the stunning décor. The couture wedding gown, a vision of elegance and sophistication, was custom-made by internationally renowned designer Galia Lahav, while Jake’s tailored suit was crafted by the impeccable P Johnson. Cute little feature’s like the cocktail cart from Tipsy Taps,  Furniture and chandeliers from Bali Sewa Sewa, Hair and make up from Ita Paidjan, and fabulous recovery party items from Bali Event Hire  and the Styling by Enakai Creative.

A Viral Celebration

It’s no surprise that Jake and Marie’s wedding went viral. The breathtaking photos and videos captured by the talented team perfectly showcased the magic of the day. More than just a wedding, it was a testament to the resilience of love and the beauty of celebrating life’s milestones, no matter the obstacles.
